Biography
Andrew Oropeza is a composer from South Central Los Angeles who grew up listening to films. He began composing music In 2016 at Film2Future and has composed for various short films, documentaries, and advertisements. Andrew has been the production coordinator at Film2Future, managed registrations and digital assets with Current Music, and was a music trainee at Sony Pictures Entertainment Television, assisting with the release of the singles from the Top 5 contestants on Season 21 of “American Idol”.
His most recent scoring project was “Breathe” which was screened at the 2023 Los Angeles International Film Festival in Santa Monica. He is an alum of USC and is currently a student in the Composition and Orchestrations for Film and TV program at Berklee Online.
Andrew Oropeza is a composer from South Central Los Angeles who grew up listening to films. In 2016, he would join the first class of Film2Future and write his first score for the short. He would continued with the program, writing scores for animation and advertising shorts. Andrew would return to Film2Future in 2021 as a production coordinator. In 2023, he became the sound supervisor for the 4 animated shorts produced that year.
He joined the Current Music team from 2021-2023, helping with music registrations and asset organization. In Spring 2023, Andrew was a music trainee at Sony Pictures Entertainment Television, assisting with artist management and the release of the singles from the Top 5 contestants on Season 21 of “American Idol”.
He attended the University of Southern California from 2018-2022, majoring in Narrative Studies and minoring in Game Audio. He currently is a student in the Composition and Orchestrations for Film and TV program at Berklee Online.

Andrew Oropeza is a composer from South Central Los Angeles. He grew up listening to films and deciphering the melodies on an Yamaha electric keyboard his grandfather bought at the swap meet. From Terminator to “Adventure Time” to Disneyland’s Fantasmic!, he would get lost isolating the different instruments, learning how they contributed to the story.
In 2016, he would join the first class of Film2Future and write his first score for the short “What Runs Through Blood.” He continued with the program as a student working in animation and advertising, writing scores for each project.
Andrew would return to Film2Future in 2021 as a production coordinator assisting in virtual animation programming and supporting students in their editing, sound design, and music selection. In 2023, he became the sound supervisor for the 4 animated shorts produced that year. He also joined the Current Music team, helping with music registrations and asset organization.
In Spring 2023, Andrew was a music trainee at Sony Pictures Entertainment Television, assisting with artist management and the release of the singles from the Top 5 contestants on Season 21 of “American Idol”.
